Fun Getaway!
Last weekend we had a nice little road trip to go enjoy some of the great weather we have been having this spring. We took a drive over the North Cascade Highway, and ended up staying in a beautiful little town called LaConnor, which is about an hour North of Seattle.
It poured down rain on Saturday, but was sunny and warm on Friday and Sunday. Typical spring here in the Pacific Northwest!
Here are a few pictures from that trip.

Here's a poem that I wrote during this trip while sitting on the deck of the Channel Inn after sunset:
La Conner - April 29
Trees with one branch extended to the North in greeting,
The new moon shows more clearly the shape of its darker side -
Swelling and languid, like oil in water
One dog barking,
One confused soul,
Finally answered by a deep, distant chorus
A strong South wind creaks the timbers and rustles chimes to Impetuous melody
This night is blown as smooth,
as the polished ivory crescent
that shines down her bittersweet light
